The Waggon and Horses was originally built as a farmhouse in 1663. It opened as a tavern and coach house in 1789 and was named The Sandmill Inn.
The photograph opposite was taken circa 1890 and shows an early morning delivery.
A popular local in the late 60's.
In 1978 the third floor was removed to look as it is today.
